Borussia Dortmund are now reportedly turning their attention towards a different Chelsea player this month after missing out on Renato Veiga.
A number of different Blues players are linked with exits in the January window, including Renato Veiga.
Juventus have agreed to sign Chelsea’s Veiga on loan until the end of the season as fans now wait for official confirmation. Interestingly, there’s no obligation or option for the Italian club to buy the versatile 21-year-old player in the summer.
Dortmund reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea youngster Veiga this month, but he’ll continue his development in Serie A with Juventus.

Borussia Dortmund keen on Chelsea defender Chilwell
According to The Sun, Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell this month.
Apparently, the German Bundesliga side are looking at the 28-year-old Blues player after missing out on teammate Veiga.
It is explained that Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has told Chilwell that he’s got ‘no future’ under him. His £190,000-a-week wages are making it difficult for him to leave on loan or permanently in January, but the club could subsidise his wages like they’re doing with on-loan Arsenal winger Raheem Sterling.
Even though Chilwell would prefer to stay in the Premier League, he could be tempted by a glamorous move to Champions League outfit Dortmund.
Chilwell won’t get a look-in at Chelsea despite Veiga’s move, so let’s wait and see if he can find a Stamford Bridge exit before the close of the January window.
The English left-back’s one and only appearance this season came in Carabao Cup back in September. Apart from that, he’s not been involved in a matchday squad for the Premier League or in Europe.

Should Borussia Dortmund sign Ben Chilwell?
From Chilwell’s perspective, it would be great news if Dortmund decide to ramp up their interest in him during the remainder of the January window. The defender simply needs to get back to playing football after a period of isolation, so joining such a big club would be a dream.
As for Dortmund, they could do with a reinforcement in the left-back spot. Ramy Bensebaini is a decent option as their first-choice left-back, while 18-year-old youngster Almugera Kabar is his understudy. It would be a statement if they bring in a former Champions League winner, though.
England manager Thomas Tuchel has spoken with Chelsea’s Chilwell and told him that he could have an international future with him. Surely, that’ll become a lot more realistic if he gets a move, whether it’s loan or permanently, to Dortmund in this window.
