Next month will provide Chelsea with the opportunity to get rid of some players, which looks necessary.
Chelsea have several footballers in their first-team squad right now who are not playing, including the likes of Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei.
Chilwell is on big wages, so the club will want to get him off their books. It has already been claimed that Chelsea will make addressing Chilwell’s future a priority.
While the Blues look keen to offload the defender for good, it does not seem to be the same story for Casadei.

Chelsea willing to let Cesare Casadei leave temporarily
Like Chilwell, Casadei has seen very little action this season. Under Enzo Maresca, the midfielder is yet to appear in the Premier League.
However, according to BBC Sport, while Chelsea have decided that Casadei can leave the club next month, they are not actively looking to sell him and a loan move is more “likely”.
In terms of potential destinations, it has been reported that Serie A club Monza are in talks with Casadei over a possible loan move.
Casadei was one of the first signings Chelsea made under Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali. The Blues bought him from Inter Milan in a £12m deal.
Chelsea fans loved Cesare Casadei’s ‘proud’ comments
While Casadei has not got too many opportunities to play for Chelsea, he claimed back in October that he was “proud” to wear the blue shirt.
They were comments that Chelsea supporters absolutely loved, and they took to social media to express that at the time.
“He’s going to be a big player for us,” one fan said. “Fair play despite joining the club at the absolute worst time possible he clearly loves Chelsea,” another supporter wrote.
One other user on X simply posted: “Good lad”. And finally, one Chelsea supporter said: “We can’t lose this gem.”
Clearly, then, some Chelsea fans value Casadei and want to see him make it at the club. Unfortunately for the Italian, though, he is just not going to get too many chances.
Casadei is currently competing against Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia for a place in the team, three top midfield players. Whether it is on loan or permanently, Casadei needs to leave Stamford Bridge in January.
