Chelsea are not lacking options when it comes to their attack, which is one of the best in the Premier League at the moment.

Only Manchester City (20) have actually scored more goals than Chelsea (19) in the top flight this season.

Even so, it looks like the Blues still want to strengthen their forward line in the new year. Until then, Enzo Maresca will continue relying on the likes of Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson.

Chelsea fans were desperate to see Palmer in the club’s Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United, but Maresca decided to give him a rest.

Chelsea keeping an eye on Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala

There may not be a better attacking midfielder in world football at the moment than Palmer. Yet it is a position that Chelsea could still strengthen in it seems.

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are monitoring Jamal Musiala‘s situation at Bayern Munich.

Musiala, who used to play for Chelsea’s academy, is out of contract in 2026. Bayern, then, could have a big decision to make next summer if he has not signed a new one by then.

He has been an important player for Vincent Kompany’s side this season, scoring four goals in six Bundesliga appearances.

What has Jamal Musiala said about his future?

Chelsea fans are not going to say no to Musiala, even with Maresca not being in desperate need of attacking reinforcements.

The 21-year-old is a terrific player. “He’s a fabulous footballer,” Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand said on TNT Sports earlier this year.

According to former Bayern and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, Musiala is also a player you can trust. “He’s very reliable,” the new England boss was quoted as saying by the Bundesliga’s official website.

Unfortunately for Chelsea supporters, though, Musiala staying at the Allianz Arena and signing a new contract there seems like a very strong possibility.

“Yes, I can imagine that,” the Germany international said when asked about putting pen to paper on a fresh deal. “We’re in talks. I’m happy and enjoying my time here.”
