Chelsea are prepared to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Marseille for half of what they paid for him.

That is according to a report from The Evening Standard.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined the Blues last summer in a £10million deal (Sky Sports), is linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in this transfer window.

So, where will the 34-year-old striker be playing his football next season?

The Evening Standard has claimed that Chelsea have told French side Marseille they want £5million for Aubameyang this summer.

It is explained that the Blues centre-forward has already agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 club, which includes him taking a considerable pay cut to secure a return to French football.

The report says that any transfer could hinge on whether Mauricio Pochettino’s side are prepare to forego a transfer fee and let him leave for free, which is something they did with Cesar Azpilicueta earlier in the window.

Apparently, the discussions are continuing, with all parties keen to agree a transfer for Aubameyang.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has added on Twitter that Aubameyang has agreed a three-year deal with Marseille ahead of his potential move.

It makes no sense to have Aubameyang sitting around the squad next season like last year, so we hope the clubs find a quick solution that allows the player to move to Marseille.

Speaking on talkSPORT last November, Scott Minto described Aubameyang as “exceptional” during a Chelsea performance in the Champions League.

However, the forward ended up scoring just three times in 22 Blues appearances throughout the whole of last season.

It’s obvious that his time in the Premier League should come to an end now, but perhaps there’s a chance of a mini revival in Marseille colours.
