Chelsea seem to be really worried about other clubs coming in for one of their targets in the summer.
Chelsea are trying to convince Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to agree to a move to Stamford Bridge ahead of the start of the 2024/25 season, according to HITC.
The same outlet states that the Blues are doing the above because they fear rival interest.
It would indeed be a surprise if Chelsea got a free run at Osimhen in the next transfer window, with the 25-year-old being one of the best centre-forwards in the world.
Osimhen scored 31 goals in all competitions last season and has been hailed as a “complete striker” by Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.

It makes sense for Chelsea to try and get something sorted for Osimhen now. And who knows? Maybe they already have.
The Nigerian recently claimed that he has already made a decision on his future. The above is probably wishful thinking, but it really would be great if Chelsea could convince Osimhen to join them in the summer now.
As touched on earlier, he has a really good goal record, the kind that can take the Blues back to the top again.
It has not been a great season for Mauricio Pochettino‘s men, but they are currently just four points behind sixth. Where would they be with Osimhen’s goals?
We may find out next term if the club can get this deal over the line in the summer. But again, Chelsea should face competition for the Nigeria international’s signature. He is simply too good of a forward for no one to challenge the Blues.
Chelsea are a very rich club, though, and will feel that they have the means to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge.
