Chelsea are now urging Juventus to make a bid for Romelu Lukaku – a player who has angered Todd Boehly.

That is according to Alfredo Pedulla in Sport Italia.

So, what is the situation involving Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, Pedulla revealed live on Sport Italia that Chelsea are keen for Juventus to firm up their interest in the Belgium international with an official bid.

The respected journalist said: “Today there was a very long direct contact between Chelsea and Juve. Lukaku wants and waits for the black and whites and continues to reject any other proposal.

“Al Hilal made him a new offer but he again said no. Chelsea have asked Juve to come out of the closet.”

A story from Calcio Mercato claimed that Juventus have signalled a desire to bid £34m for Lukaku, although no concrete offer has been made as of yet.

That same story mentions that Al Hilal’s bid is worth €50m (£43m).

However, Chelsea have basically had to write that bid off, as Lukaku doesn’t want to join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kalidou Koulibaly and Roberto Firmino in the Saudi Pro League.

Chelsea want Lukaku gone

After the 30-year-old refused to turn up for pre-season training at Cobham, Chelsea simply want the Antwerp-born striker gone as soon as possible.

Interestingly, the situation involving Lukaku is said to be angering Boehly – according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The American already bowed to the Belgian’s demands when allowing him to join Inter Milan on loan last summer, and the Italian news outlet mention that he did not expect to be dealing with Lukaku again this summer.

As the saga drags on, Boehly is presumably becoming more and more frustrated, especially as Chelsea are struggling with incomings.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Lukaku should be leaving Chelsea soon – once Juventus finally firm up their interest with a bid.
