Chelsea are reportedly tempted to sign Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix on loan because he fits the plans of Todd Boehly.

According to journalist Dean Jones, Blues co-owner Boehly is aiming to bring some high-profile signings to Stamford Bridge to highlight intent in the transfer market.

He reports that Graham Potter’s side are considering signing Atletico’s 23-year-old attacker next month on loan with an option to buy.

Jones told GiveMeSport: “A loan and an option is definitely something that is tempting.

“I think that some money involved in that loan will be totally fine because, clearly, Todd Boehly wants to show that Chelsea are serious about attracting some of the biggest names in football and Joao Felix is still that.”

This latest speculation suggests Felix’s potential move to Stamford Bridge could yet happen.

In contrast, the Daily Mail suggest Chelsea feel Atletico’s demands make Felix too expensive to sign. Apparently, the Spanish giants want an £8million loan fee plus wages paid in full for their forward.

He scored his fifth goal of the season last night in Atletico’s 2-0 win over Elche in La Liga.

In our view, the Portuguese attacker is supremely talented and could really thrive away from the Metropolitano Stadium. There’s some crazy figures branded about for him, though.

Described as “something special” by Antonio Rudiger last year, Felix ticks so many boxes as a modern day striker that can play various forward roles.

Chelsea fans are going to buy into Boehly’s plans to sign the world’s marquee names, but they’ve got to make sense for Graham Potter’s side.
