Villa believe that Chelsea will make an approach for Rogers; however, the Blues are not the only club who are interested in signing the 23-year-old.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea think Rogers’ versatility, technical ability and athleticism make him perfect for the club’s project.

The England international racking up 85 appearances in the Premier League will also tick another box for Chelsea.

After their struggles in the top flight last season, it is thought that the Blues want to sign players who have experience in the division this summer.

If Rogers is one Premier League-proven star Chelsea decide to bring in, the Villa man will get the opportunity to link up with Cole Palmer, Reece James and Levi Colwill.

Rogers is good friends with Palmer and the 24-year-old’s two Chelsea teammates.

How Xabi Alonso could use Morgan Rogers at Chelsea

Rogers showed his versatility during the 2025/26 campaign by playing as a No.10 and on the left.

At Chelsea, you would expect him to start on the left-hand side because of Palmer, who is likely to remain in the No.10 position.

Of course, Xabi Alonso could use a 3-4-2-1 formation like he did at Bayer Leverkusen, so there is always the possibility of Palmer playing as an inside forward on the right, while Rogers fulfils the same role on the left.

After Alejandro Garnacho’s struggles and Jamie Gittens’ injuries, Chelsea need a new left-sided attacker. Rogers could be that man, but his importance to Villa and rival interest could make it difficult for the Club World Cup holders to sign him.
