Mauricio Pochettino has huge doubts about Chelsea trying to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar this summer.

That is according to a report from The Evening Standard.

We’ve heard recent speculation that Neymar, 31, is a player on the Blues radar in this transfer window.

RMC Sport claimed this week that the PSG attacker’s representatives have been in continued discussions with Chelsea about a potential transfer.

However, there’s fresh claims to suggest the Brazilian star won’t end up at Stamford Bridge.

The Evening Standard says that Chelsea head coach Pochettino doesn’t want a reunion with Neymar after previously coaching him in Paris.

It is understood that the left-winger’s up for sale in this transfer window, with PSG prepared to accept any offer between £60million and £70m for him.

The report adds that Pochettino is working closely with Chelsea’s sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, so a transfer pursuit of Neymar is viewed as a ‘non-starter’.

Described as a “world class” player by Pochettino only last year (Marca), Neymar has scored 294 goals in 497 club appearances. You can add that to a phenomenal return of 77 goals in 124 senior Brazil caps, too.

There’s no way you can doubt the skill and individual talent of the PSG man, but he doesn’t fit the club’s transfer policy we’ve seen under this ownership.

Chelsea are very much going down the road of signing upcoming talents that they hope to develop into superstars themselves.

Christopher Nkunku’s injury blow should add some extra pressure on the Blues to bring in another attacker before the summer window closes. Neymar wouldn’t be on our list, though.
