Chelsea had plenty of individuals who really stood out at this year’s Club World Cup in America.
Cole Palmer and new Chelsea signing Joao Pedro have stolen all of the headlines and understandably so. Both men scored in the final against Paris Saint-Germain, with the former grabbing a brace.
After the game, PSG boss Luis Enrique summed up Palmer’s performance with two words: “very good”.
However, Palmer and Pedro were not the only players from Enzo Maresca‘s squad to shine at the tournament.

Chelsea in no hurry to replace Robert Sanchez after Club World Cup heroics
Robert Sanchez also impressed at the Club World Cup, making some gigantic saves against PSG.
The 27-year-old managed to keep clean sheets in both the final and semi-finals, helping him to win the Golden Glove award.
In May, it was claimed that clubs felt that Chelsea would sell Sanchez this summer. However, that belief may be gone now.
According to GiveMeSport, while the Blues still hold an interest in AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, they are not desperate to replace Sanchez with him after the Spaniard’s performances at the Club World Cup.
Ultimately, as things stand, it looks like Sanchez will be Chelsea’s No.1 next season, with the former Brighton & Hove Albion man proving himself on the biggest stage.

John Obi Mikel still thinks Chelsea need to sign a new goalkeeper
Sanchez shone at the Club World Cup, but he still has his doubters. For example, while John Obi Mikel thinks he was “brilliant” against PSG, the former Chelsea player still believes his old employers need to sign a new goalkeeper.
When Mikel spoke about Sanchez after the game, he said: “I still believe we do need a top, top goalkeeper. Robert Sanchez had a brilliant game today but going into the new season with the Champions League and the Premier League I think you still need another top goalkeeper that is going to come in and compete with him.”
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will actually go back in for Maignan. Sanchez, though, has given them good reason not to after his latest display.
The Blues also have Filip Jorgensen and Mike Penders, so they are definitely not lacking numbers in that area of the pitch. Rather, the main concern is Sanchez’s consistency.
