Chelsea’s squad does appear to be growing by the day because they’re not letting up in the transfer market with new recruits.

The Blues fans may be finding it quite difficult to keep up with all their activity in this summer transfer window. But if more players keep joining, there needs to be a mass exodus in the next few weeks to trim the squad down to a manageable size for Enzo Maresca.

Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto, 24, is the name in the media excepted to be Chelsea’s latest signing.

Journalist Fabrice Hawkins first broke the news via X on Friday afternoon that Wolves attacker Neto is about to join Chelsea.

According to The Guardian, Neto will have his medical in the next 24 hours after Chelsea agreed a transfer deal worth up to £54m for the Portugal international.

Raheem Sterling could leave after Pedro Neto arrival

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Neto’s imminent arrival at Stamford Bridge could lead to Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling leaving in this window.

It is explained that Italian giants Juventus have now requested information on Sterling and have set their sights on him as a possible summer signing. Apparently, their focus is to sign two more forwards before the end of this summer.

The report explains that the Serie A club are gathering information about the 29-year-old Blues star, who they’d prefer to get on loan.

What should Chelsea do with Raheem Sterling?

Sterling’s certainly yet to hit top gear during two seasons as a Chelsea player, scoring 19 goals in 81 appearances for them. The fast winger has lost his spot in the England squad during that time and looks a shadow of the player he was earlier in his career.

You could make a good argument that he suits the style of new boss Maresca, so perhaps it’s worth keeping the experienced individual for at least one more year.

When he’s fit and firing, he’s still a top Premier League star. West Ham’s Michail Antonio described Sterling as “unreal” last season via BBC Sport.

However, Neto’s signing definitely puts a spotlight on the wide positions at Chelsea. Can they really keep the likes of Neto, Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer all happy in the same squad?
