The transfer speculation that Chelsea are on the verge of signing Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto has come from nowhere this Friday, but fresh claims suggest that the Blues were unsuccessful with their initial attempt to get him.

Pedro Neto, 24, is expected to become Chelsea’s newest signing in a busy summer transfer window.

It’s been reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano on X that Chelsea will be signing Neto from Wolves this summer. He’s explained that the Portuguese winger will soon undergo a medical before a £51m transfer to Stamford Bridge, which includes add-ons worth £2.5m.

Chelsea offered Trevoh Chalobah and David Datro Fofana to Wolves

Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed via X that Wolves attacker Neto has travelled to undergo a Chelsea medical on Saturday now that the Premier League clubs have agreed a deal.

Apparently, the Blues first tried to purchase Neto by offering players and cash before an outright cash deal was agreed. Chelsea duo Trevoh Chalobah and David Datro Fofana were offered to Wolves, but they said no and refused both players.

Of course, Wolves are well within their right to reject Chelsea’s player-plus-cash offer. Ultimately, they’ve got the deal they want for their highly-rated attacker.

Blues centre-back Chalobah, who was left off the pre-season tour, is waiting to see what happens with his future. The Telegraph has claimed that Chelsea want £25m to sell Chalobah amid interest from Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, LondonWorld recently claimed that Chelsea attacker Fofana has agreed to join Leicester City on loan. Fofana, who’s been described as “very fast” by Vincent Kompany via Burnley’s official website, is an interesting option for any Premier League rival club.

Neto was outstanding back in February when Wolves secured a 4-2 away win at Stamford Bridge over Chelsea in the Premier League, assisting a goal and running the Blues defence all over the place. Hopefully, he can enjoy similar success when he’s lining up for the home side next season.
