Chelsea could now make a bid for Monaco defender Axel Disasi – a player who is also wanted by Manchester United and Arsenal.
That is according to The Sun.
So, what is the situation involving Axel Disasi and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, it is said that Erik ten Hag wants to sign the Frenchman to bolster his right-back department, amid doubts over the future of Diogo Dalot.
However – according to The Sun – Chelsea could be about to ‘nip in’ with a bid for Disasi, while Arsenal are also a potential rival to Manchester United in this particular transfer battle.
It is also said that Monaco value the France international at a sum of £34m – and could be willing to sell him this summer.

The update comes after RMC Sport claimed that Chelsea were tempted to make a move for Disasi after losing Kalidou Koulibaly to Saudi Arabia.
Mauricio Pochettino’s need for defensive reinforcements has only increased since the Senegal international left Stamford Bridge, after Wesley Fofana ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, and Benoit Badiashile remains out with a hamstring problem.
Who is Chelsea target Axel Disasi?
The 25-year-old is a superb player, although given the fact he is not yet a household name, a number of people may not be familiar with him.
If that is the case, a comparison may help – interestingly, Disasi has been compared to one of the best around in Chelsea’s very own Thiago Silva.
It was Ligue 1’s official website who likened the Monaco No.6 to the Chelsea No.6 in a detailed analysis, specifically mentioning that the pair possess a strong reading of the game.

A separate report from Ligue 1 Analytics called Disasi the “complete” defender.
He certainly seems to have many strings to his bow, registering ten goal involvements in 49 appearances last season to go with some exquisite defensive showings.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Chelsea could soon bid for Disasi.
