Chelsea are reportedly looking at cheaper alternatives to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.
Chelsea are interested in signing Victor Osimhen but are yet to agree a deal with Napoli for his signature. PSG could make an offer for Osimhen as well, potentially complicating things further for the Blues.
Nicolas Jackson appears to be the team’s first-choice striker right now after starting in their Premier League opener against Manchester City last Sunday.
However, with Joao Felix now at Stamford Bridge and the transfer window still open, that could change.

Chelsea considering Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin plus another forward
Osimhen does not seem to be the only forward who is on Chelsea’s list at this moment in time.
According to The Sun, with Osimhen demanding astronomical wages, Chelsea are now considering Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin as an alternative to the 25-year-old.
The same outlet has claimed that the Blues are also looking at Juventus’ Federico Chiesa, though the Italian’s best position is out wide.
Juventus no longer want Chiesa, so signing the former Fiorentina man should not be too difficult if Chelsea decide to turn to him.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s stats last season
Calvert-Lewin made 32 appearances in the Premier League for Everton during the 2023/24 campaign. Across those games, he managed to score seven goals and provide two assists.
One of those goals came in Everton’s 2-0 win against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby. On his display after the game, Sean Dyche told TNT Sports: “His physical performance was outstanding.”
Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to be an upgrade on Jackson, though, who scored double the amount of goals the 27-year-old registered in the top flight last term.
Having signed Marc Guiu from Barcelona and with Felix and Christopher Nkunku both able to start up front, Enzo Maresca is not in desperate need of Calvert-Lewin.
If Chelsea can add a top forward like Osimhen to their squad, then great. But if not, then it may be better for them to go with what they have got instead of bringing in an alternative like Calvert-Lewin, who is unlikely to make their starting XI any stronger.
