Chelsea have already lined up two alternatives to sign instead of Alexander Isak from Newcastle

Despite the form that Nicolas Jackson has been in this season, speculation surrounding Chelsea signing a new striker is not going away.

Nicolas Jackson has scored eight goals in 13 Premier League appearances for Chelsea in the current campaign.

The 23-year-old is being backed up by Christopher Nkunku, who is another excellent forward. He is actually the Blues’ top scorer in all competitions, netting 12 times

Up front is not a problem position right now, yet Chelsea are still thought to be interested in Alexander Isak. And if they cannot get him, it looks like they have a couple of alternatives.

Chelsea have Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic on their radar

Victor Osimhen is someone whom Chelsea tried to sign in the last transfer window, and it appears that they are still interested in him, as well as Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea have identified Osimhen and Vlahovic as alternatives to Isak.

Osimhen is expected to be available next summer when his loan at Galatasaray finishes.

The 25-year-old is still owned by Napoli but has now been replaced by former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

As for Vlahovic, if Chelsea or another club sign him, then Juventus could decide to go after Osimhen themselves.

Comparing Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic

Really, if Jackson keeps on scoring and Chelsea can keep Nkunku happy, then there will be no reason to bring in either Osimhen or Vlahovic.

Should the club decide that they do need a new striker and have to pick from Osimhen and Vlahovic, though, then they should choose the former.

In the last couple of Serie A seasons, Osimhen has been the better finisher. He scored one goal fewer than Vlahovic last term despite the Serbian playing 330 more minutes.

During the 2022/23 campaign, Osimhen also scored 26 goals in 32 league appearances, whereas Vlahovic managed 10 in 27.

Of course, there are way more aspects of their games to consider, while there are also more seasons that you can look at. But the above should not be overlooked.
