Mauricio Pochettino has been told that Robert Sanchez can become world class at Chelsea – if managed correctly.

That is according to the Daily Mail.

Well, the Blues signed the Spain international from Brighton in a £25m deal on Saturday 5th August.

Chelsea needed a new glovesman after losing Edouard Mendy to Al Ahli, while there are also doubts about Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Now – according to the Daily Mail – Pochettino has received some exciting feedback about Sanchez.

It is said that the Argentine has been told that his new shot-stopper has the potential to become one of the best goalkeepers on the planet if he is managed correctly at Stamford Bridge.

The Daily Mail add that Pochettino has spoken to Sanchez at length about what he expects from him, as the 25-year-old attempts to dislodge Kepa from the No.1 spot.

In our view – even if Sanchez doesn’t start immediately – his presence on the bench will spark Kepa into action, knowing that any mistake will most likely lead to Pochettino reshuffling things in between the sticks.

We understand why some may feel underwhelmed about Sanchez arriving at Stamford Bridge, seeing as he left Brighton while third choice under Roberto De Zerbi.

However, the Spaniard has now been reunited with Ben Roberts at Chelsea, the Goalkeeping Coach he seemingly adores.

Sanchez has often spoken about his love for Roberts, and the Daily Mail even mention that he cried when the 48-year-old left Brighton for Chelsea.

Therefore, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Sanchez’s game go up a gear, now he is back working with someone who knows how to get a tune out of him.
