Reports have claimed that Chelsea have had second thoughts about loaning out defender Bashir Humphreys this summer.
According to Wales Online, the Blues are now not sanctioning a temporary switch to Swansea despite talks bringing the two parties close over the weekend.
Humphreys was part of the travelling squad for the club’s tour of the United States that filled their pre-season for the current one.

It was a very successful campaign for the Blues. They left America with an unbeaten record, rescued by a late goal against Borussia Dortmund by Mason Burstow.
Mauricio Pochettino had used the pre-season to get a look at his entire squad, and this included the youngsters he has at his disposal.
One of those who certainly got their fair share of minutes was Humphreys, who made a number of appearances against some very strong opposition.
Humphreys now not set to leave
He did his stock at the club and with the new manager no harm at all with a collection of assured displays.
Despite this, it looked as if they were going to sanction him leaving the club this season in order to seek regular playing time in the second tier.
This theory was backed up by their extreme spending continuing in the role. They spent big money on the addition of Axel Disasi.

The Frenchman has instantly introduced himself as somewhat of a hero after he put in a great performance on debut against Liverpool.
He marked his strong defensive abilities with a goal to bring the Blues back on level terms, and his passionate celebration showed exactly what it meant to him.
It could be that Humphreys now has a spell working under the first team options at the club in his sights.
