There is set to be a number of departures from Chelsea on deadline day, with Axel Disasi likely to be among those leaving.
Disasi has agreed to join Aston Villa, the two clubs, however, are yet to strike a deal, leaving the Frenchman in limbo on deadline day.
London rivals Tottenham are also heavily interested in the defender, as they look to bolster their defensive options following a string of injuries.
Disasi though has not agreed terms with Spurs – suggesting the 26-year-old would prefer a move to Aston Villa over a London switch.
Despite the Disasi’s wishes, it seems like Chelsea want him to join Tottenham over Aston Villa due to one key reason.

Chelsea agree to Tottenham Axel Disasi deal
Chelsea fans have been amused at Disasi’s Tottenham links, but it’s starting to look more and more likely he could in fact end up in North London by the end of deadline day.
That is because Spurs have reportedly agreed to a £5 million deal with the Blues, to take Disasi on loan for the remainder of the season – according to Matt Law from the Telegraph.
“Tottenham have agreed a £5 million deal with Chelsea to take Disasi on loan for the rest of the season.
“Villa’s loan bid for Disasi is understood to have been higher, but Chelsea turned it down because they believe Villa to be a greater rival for Champions League qualification.
“Disasi is understood to have agreed terms with Villa and has so far resisted giving the green light to Spurs which has put his future in limbo.
“Villa are expected to try again for Disasi today and it remains to be seen whether a deal can be done or whether he will eventually accept a move to Spurs.”
Ange Postecoglou comments on possible Axel Disasi deal
Tottenham’s injury issues have been well-documented over recent weeks so Ange Postecoglou will undoubtedly want to get defensive bodies through the door on deadline day.
Speaking after Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Brentford, the Aussie joked with reporters when questioned on the Disasi transfer.
He said “I’ve been busy for the last couple of hours mate so I’m not really sure what’s going on. I will check my phone when I get back in the room,” (via Sky Sports).
If Disasi were to end up at Spurs, I’m sure a lot of Chelsea supporters would be keen to see how he gets on in Postecoglou’s high-line system.
