Chelsea are in the market for a new goalkeeper ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
Chelsea brought in both Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic last summer, but there are clearly concerns about the two.
Those concerns are likely to be around how well they play with their feet. According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are searching for a goalkeeper with good distribution.
There are two shot-stoppers, though, who are unlikely to arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer. But a move for Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen looks possible.
The Athletic recently reported that the Blues have already made an approach for him.

Chelsea rule out moves for Aaron Ramsdale and James Trafford
While Jorgensen may be a target for Chelsea right now, it appears that Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale and Burnley’s James Trafford are not.
Both goalkeepers have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge. Earlier this month, it was claimed that Enzo Maresca wants Trafford in his squad.
However, according to another report from The Athletic, Trafford and Ramsdale have been ruled out as targets.
The two goalkeepers should be available this summer. Trafford’s Burnley side were recently relegated from the Premier League, while Ramsdale is Arsenal’s second-choice shot-stopper.
The 26-year-old, who cost the Gunners £30m, will not want to spend another season on the bench.
Chelsea set on Filip Jorgensen
Rather than Ramsdale or Trafford, Jorgensen looks to be the goalkeeper who are Chelsea are set on, or at least one of them.
Jorgensen is still 22 and lacks Premier League experience, unlike Ramsdale and Trafford. However, the Denmark U21 international really proved himself in La Liga last season.
As per FBref, Jorgensen made more saves (143) than any other goalkeeper in the division. Of course, Chelsea seem to want a No.1 who is going to be good with his feet, so the club must feel distribution is also a strength of his.
His arrival would spell bad news for Sanchez and Petrovic. While they only arrived at the club last summer, Maresca is clearly not fully sold on the two.
Sanchez wants to fight for his Chelsea place, and maybe the threat of Jorgensen could help elevate his game in the new season.
