MLS club Inter Miami could reportedly make a move to try sign a Chelsea loanee in the summer.

There are a number of Chelsea players out on loan during the 2024/25 season because there’s simply not room for them all in the Blues squad.

The likes of Axel Disasi, Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka and Renato Veiga all left Stamford Bridge on loan during the January transfer window. Incidentally, Chelsea are planning to sell Felix on a permanent deal this summer.

Inter Miami could move for Chelsea loanee

Journalist Simon Phillips has reported via Substack that Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling is starting to attract several bits of interest.

The 30-year-old winger, who’s currently on a season-long loan at Arsenal, is due to return to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Apparently, Chelsea are already trying to sort Sterling’s permanent move away, but the player may need to accept a move abroad to keep earning his current high wages.

Phillips mentions that clubs from Saudi Arabia, China and America have already registered interest in Sterling. Interestingly, Inter Miami ‘will make a move’ for him if they receive encouragement from the player’s camp. Sterling’s representatives and Chelsea are now taking enquiries, but no decision has been made yet on his future.

A move to Inter Miami, who are co-owned by David Beckham, would certainly be a glamorous one. It would give Sterling the chance to be team up with iconic figures such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets.

Chris Sutton thinks Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was right to get rid of Sterling, especially after seeing what he’s done during his loan spell this season at the Emirates Stadium.

Raheem Sterling underwhelming at Arsenal

Sterling has spent his entire career so far in England, where he’s played for the biggest clubs in the country. The experienced attacker has played for Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Unfortunately, it feels like he may need to move overseas or drop down a level to play regularly again.

Arsenal supporters recently compared Sterling to Chelsea great Willian as they raged about his performance in a Champions League pace.

We don’t think he possesses the same kind of electricity in his game that he did when he was winning trophies for fun at Man City, so it’ll be interesting to see where his next move takes him.
