Chelsea may tease Tottenham Hotspur with an offer for Harry Kane in the near future.

Speaking to the Spurs Chat Podcast, Ben Jacobs suggested that Todd Boehly might throw some money in the direction of his rival’s striker and just see what happens.

Boehly is in need of a forward to fill the hole left by Armando Broja, and few would be a better fit than Kane.

The 29-year-old remains one of the globe’s most feared and ‘world-class’ number nines, a threat that any team on the planet would benefit from obtaining.

Tottenham are very well aware of this fact, meaning the probability of the England international departing is extremely slim.

Especially if it meant joining a capital city adversary.

Antonio Conte would not be best pleased if Daniel Levy allowed Kane to join Chelsea.

This is one deal that is almost certainly off the cards, yet it of course cannot be completely ruled out.

Could Chelsea cast their rod for Harry Kane?

“Naturally, there could be others suitors coming in for Harry Kane a little bit closer to home. Chelsea might be ones to watch in that respect,” proposed transfer expert Jacobs.

“Before that gets sensationalised, Tottenham are in control and have every ability to say: ‘no, we are not selling you to a Premier League rival, simple as that’. But that doesn’t mean that those rivals still can’t the enquiries.

“Tottenham, in all likelihood, will not want Harry Kane to go to any Premier League rival, they will laugh off any approaches, simple as that. But that doesn’t mean Chelsea can’t try their luck for the heck of it.”

The very worst that could happen is Spurs say no to Boehly’s potential advances and he can shift focus to another target.

At the very best, Graham Potter could be handed the deadly attacker on a silver platter.

Potter needs his side to start scoring regularly again, having managed just three in their last five competitive fixtures.

Kane meanwhile has 15 for club and country this campaign, a tally he will aim to increase once league football resumes.

Just don’t add to your goals against us please, Harry.
