Chelsea are now close to making another sale as Ruben Loftus-Cheek nears a move to AC Milan.
That is according to Calciomercato.
So, what is the latest on Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, AC Milan were close to signing the England international a few weeks ago, although negotiations stalled after the Italian giants fired Paolo Maldini from his role as Director of Football.
However, the deal has now been resurrected, and a move is very close to being finalised for the man Gary Lineker once called a “hugely talented” footballer.
Calciomercato believe AC Milan and Chelsea have shaken hands on a €15m (£13m) fee, and the 27-year-old will now fly out to the San Siro for a medical.

The Chelsea No.12 endured a difficult 2022/23 campaign, starting 19 Premier League games but failing to score a single goal as the Blues finished 12th.
Calciomercato explain how Loftus-Cheek has wanted to try a new challenge for a while now, and he looks set to finally get his wish as a move to AC Milan nears.
The Evening Standard also claimed that Chelsea wanted £25m for the midfielder, but AC Milan hoped to bag a discount and get him for closer to £15m, as he is in the final year of his contract – something they seem to have achieved.
AC Milan have moved to sign Loftus-Cheek as a direct replacement for Sandro Tonali, who is heading to Newcastle in a deal worth £65m.
Why Moises Caicedo is the perfect Loftus-Cheek replacement for Chelsea
As you may have heard, Chelsea are keen to sign Moises Caicedo once the Blues have offloaded fringe players.
Chelsea – according to Fabrizio Romano – are expected to make a significant bid for the Ecuador international in the coming days, and we believe he would be an ideal replacement for Loftus-Cheek.
Both Caicedo and the Englishman can operate in either a defensive midfield role or as a flat central midfielder, while the pair can also play at right-back if need be.

Loftus-Cheek represented an excellent squad option for Mauricio Pochettino, but if Chelsea managed to sign the 21-year-old Caicedo as his replacement, someone who is six years younger than the Blues academy graduate, it would represent impressive business.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as AC Milan could announce the signing of Loftus-Cheek soon.
