Chelsea are now considering Monaco’s Axel Disasi as a potential transfer target.
That is according to well-respected journalist Simon Phillips.
Phillips has reported on his Substack that Chelsea ‘really like’ Axel Disasi after scouting him.
Apparently, the 25-year-old Frenchman is on a shortlist of centre-backs that the Blues are currently looking at.

It’s quite interesting timing that Disasi links emerge on the same day that Chelsea centre-half Wesley Fofana, 22, has been dealt some horrible injury news.
Football.London claimed on Tuesday that Blues defender Fofana has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.
It was then confirmed by the club on their official website that Fofana has undergone anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery.
So, is Disadi a good option for Chelsea to pursue amid the Fofana injury news?
Our guess is the Blues may ramp up interest in the weeks ahead if they want to reinforce the heart of defence.

L’Equipe previously reported that Monaco could demand £44million to sell Disasi, with Manchester United an interested buyer this summer.
RMC Sport claimed last month that Chelsea could be tempted into making a move for Disasi. It’s all gone a bit quiet since, though.
He’s a powerful and reliable centre-back that played 49 games across all competitions last season, chipping in with six goals.
It’s very telling that he’s now got four senior international caps for France, who can pick from such a deep pool of talent. Incidentally, he featured late off the bench when France last to Argentina in last winter’s World Cup final.
