Chelsea are now demanding just £8m to sell Callum Hudson-Odoi as Fulham attempt to wrap up a deal for £4m.

That is according to the Guardian.

So, what is the latest on Callum Hudson-Odoi at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to the Telegraph – the England international was not part of Mauricio Pochettino’s main training group at Cobham, and he was also left out of the squad for Chelsea’s tour of the United States.

Hudson-Odoi looks certain to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with Fulham and Lazio emerging as frontrunners to secure his signature.

A story from Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that the 22-year-old is close to reuniting with Maurizio Sarri at Lazio on an initial loan deal, with the Serie A side then paying £13m to turn the move permanent next summer.

However, Fulham are refusing to go away.

The Guardian believe those at Craven Cottage are hoping to wrap up a £4m deal for Hudson-Odoi, although Chelsea want at least £8m for their academy graduate, who the Blues are keen to sell.

That would suggest Gazzetta dello Sport’s story is inaccurate, as Chelsea wouldn’t be demanding £8m to sell the Londoner if Lazio had a £13m deal in the pipeline.

Chelsea have handled Hudson-Odoi poorly

While Hudson-Odoi still has plenty of time left to fulfil his vast potential at the age of 22, there is no denying that Chelsea have handled his career poorly so far.

The Wandsworth-born winger was the subject of a £35m bid from Bayern Munich in 2019 – according to The Times – and looked set to do big things in football after breaking on to the scene aged 18.

However, Hudson-Odoi’s career has stagnated significantly since Sarri left west London, as a frequent change of management affects his rhythm.

Hopefully – wherever he ends up – the Chelsea academy graduate can kick on and reach his full potential.
