Chelsea and Juventus are holding a key round of talks about Dusan Vlahovic and Romelu Lukaku across Monday and Tuesday.

That is according to Corriere dello Sport.

What’s the story?

Well, both the Blues and the Old Lady are in discussions about swapping their strikers this summer, with Juventus also hoping for a bit of cash on top.

Juventus feel Vlahovic is more valuable than Lukaku.

Chelsea saw a £17m bid rejected by Juventus which also included the Belgium international – again according to Corriere dello Sport – with the Italian giants asking for £26m and the striker.

Now, talks are restarting – the Italian news outlet describe this round of negotiations as key, with both parties expecting a resolution this week.

Corriere dello Sport add that Chelsea view Vlahovic as the man to complete their attack along with Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson.

The Serbia international scored 14 goals in 42 appearances last season, but missed 18 games through injury.

Vlahovic might have to be patient at Chelsea

In our view, Vlahovic should not expect to arrive at Stamford Bright and walk straight into the starting XI.

As previously mentioned, the Serbian only scored 14 goals last season, and he will have a lot to prove in west London as a result.

The 23-year-old will also be competing against Nicolas Jackson if an agreement can be found with Juventus, someone who shone on the club’s tour of the United States and deserves to start the 2023/24 campaign.

If Pochettino drops the Senegal international for Vlahovic – or another new arrival – it would be seriously cruel.
