Chelsea are reportedly less likely to sign Atletico Madid’s Joao Felix than Manchester United or Arsenal.
Felix, 23, is a “special” forward that’s linked with a surprise loan deal away from Atletico for the second half of the season.
According to the Evening Standard, the Spanish club are demanding £10million during the January transfer window to grant the attacker a loan move. However, Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal are reluctant to fork out that much cash for him this month.
Chelsea less likely to sign Felix
Journalist Dean Jones has delivered a new line about the transfer race to sign Felix.
Apparently, Graham Potter’s Chelsea side are less likely than Man United or Arsenal to get the Portugal international on loan.
When discussing Joao Felix’s future, Dean Jones said on The Football Terrace’s YouTube channel: “It genuinely is up in the air at the moment because of the valuation on him.
“Nobody is going to pay that at the moment and Manchester United have kind of made the first steps towards this deal and they are not willing to go near it. I think it was £4 million [they were offering], which is going to be too late.
“I think it’s looking like Arsenal and Manchester United, and then Chelsea.”
In our view, a move for Felix should become even more tempting given the injury pile up at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues may have to pay a massive sum to get him on a short-term basis, but Chelsea’s season is already in danger of falling apart by January.
Potter’s side are 10th in the league table after defeat to Manchester City last night.
Chelsea have scored only 20 goals in 17 Premier League games this campaign, so they desperately need some more help and quality in the final third of the pitch.
