Chelsea could sell one of their best players this season in the next transfer window.

Right now, Chelsea are on course to qualify for the Champions League, with the Blues currently sitting fourth in the Premier League table.

The likes of Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Noni Madueke have all helped Enzo Maresca‘s men to compete for the top four this season with some excellent performances.

But it looks like Chelsea could be about to sell one of their key players in a potential blow to Maresca.

Chelsea willing to sell Noni Madueke this summer

Madueke has been one of Chelsea’s top performers this season. His seven goals in the Premier League mean Nicolas Jackson (nine) and Palmer (14) are the only Chelsea players who have scored more times than him.

Even so, it looks like the bosses at Stamford Bridge are open to parting ways with him at the end of the campaign.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, despite Maresca having a lot of faith in Madueke, Chelsea are prepared to sell the winger in the next transfer window.

On his Substack Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, he posted: “We are hearing that even though Enzo Maresca ‘really believes in’ Noni Madueke, the club will be open to offers for him ‘within a good price range’ this summer.”

Madueke has been competing with Pedro Neto for a spot in the Chelsea team, and it is a battle that he has been winning. In total, the 22-year-old has made 18 starts in the English top flight this term.

Enzo Maresca will not be happy about Noni Madueke exit

Maresca has been tough on Madueke this season but only because he knows how good the England international can become.

Maresca called for more from Madueke after one game in December, saying: “Noni has to understand he has to work more because he can be much, much, much better.”

As per FBref, Madueke has ranked in the 98th percentile for progressive carries and the 95th for touches in the attacking penalty area among attacking midfielders and wingers over the last year, showing that he is a really positive forward.

He is a real threat, especially compared to Chelsea’s other wide men. If the club do go on to put him up for sale, there is no way Maresca is going to be happy about that.
