Chelsea are now ready to meet the release clause of Michael Olise – after Crystal Palace rejected a bid worth £26m.
That is according to Tutto Mercato Web.
So, what is the latest on Michael Olise and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to RMC Sport – Chelsea made a £26m bid for the Crystal Palace No.7 earlier this week, who would prefer to join the Blues rather than seal a move to Manchester City.
The French news outlet add that Olise has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea.
Now – thanks to Tutto Mercato Web – a development has emerged in this transfer saga.
It is said that Crystal Palace rejected Chelsea’s £26m bid, which has caused the Blues to admit defeat in their attempts to lowball the south Londoners.

The Italian news outlet believe Chelsea are now ready to trigger the 21-year-old’s £35m release clause, as Mauricio Pochettino aims to bring the France Under-21 international to Stamford Bridge, increasing their first offer by £9m.
Olise, who earns £45,000-a-week at Selhurst Park, enjoyed an outstanding 2022/23 campaign, scoring two goals while also providing 11 assists in the Premier League.
Chelsea could use Lewis Hall to help bid for Michael Olise
In our view, Chelsea could use Lewis Hall as a bargaining chip, as the Blues aim to fend off Manchester City.
As you may have heard, Crystal Palace are in talks to sign the 18-year-old on loan from Chelsea, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano.
There is not expected to be an option to buy included in the deal, although Chelsea could ensure they receive preferential treatment by Crystal Palace if the Blues let the south Londoners have a purchase option.

That may appeal to the Eagles, who have often been stung by a lack of an option to buy, as seen when they were unable to sign Conor Gallagher on a permanent basis after his stunning loan.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Chelsea and Manchester City go head-to-head for Olise.
