Chelsea are now stepping up a move to sign Rayan Cherki from Lyon as the Blues look to replace Christian Pulisic.
That is according to Football London.
So, what is the latest on Rayan Cherki and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Blues seem very keen to sign the 19-year-old wonderkid this summer.
Football London believe Chelsea have been in direct contact with Cherki’s representatives in recent days, and Lyon have not entirely ruled out a sale, despite the Ligue 1 side’s determination to keep the teenage sensation.
Chelsea have made a bid for the Frenchman – which is currently being considered by the French giants – and talks over personal terms are ongoing between the Blues and the Lyon No.18’s representatives.
Football London add that PSG are also keen to sign Cherki.
However, Lyon would prefer to sell the France Under-21 international to Chelsea, rather than send him to a domestic rival.

Football London also state that Chelsea have alternative options on their shortlist, but Cherki is the priority as those at Stamford Bridge attempt to replace Pulisic.
The United States international is on the verge of joining Ruben Loftus-Cheek at AC Milan.
Cherki wants Chelsea move
By the sounds of it, Cherki’s personal terms shouldn’t be an issue for Chelsea.
A story from TEAMtalk claims that the Lyon-born prodigy is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge, and wants to play under Mauricio Pochettino in west London.
Therefore, we doubt it will be difficult to agree personal terms with Cherki, especially as he is only (contextually speaking) earning £28,000-a-week right now.

It goes without saying that Chelsea can afford to treble his current salary with ease if the Blues wanted to.
Once Chelsea and Lyon agree a fee, we expect this deal to materialise quite quickly – be sure to keep an eye out for more developments.
