Defender Bashir Humphreys has actually signed a new contract with Chelsea during yesterday’s deadline day.
The club’s official website claimed that he has put pen to paper on a long-term deal before exiting for this season on loan to Swansea.
Humphreys actually played quite a decent role in pre-season for the Blues, as Mauricio Pochettino ensured that he got a good look at his entire squad.

It seems he was impressed with what he saw. The youngster continued to feature against top teams such as Brighton and Newcastle.
He was seen in action a few days ago in the League Cup too against AFC Wimbledon, where he looked assured alongside first team stars Levi Colwill and Axel Disasi.
Humphreys signs new Chelsea contract
A loan move always looked the best possible outcome for Humphreys this summer in an attempt to see him further his progression.
It was confirmed late last night that the player had completed a move to Swansea on a temporary basis for this season.

He will no doubt be inspired by recent displays in the second tier by Colwill and former defender Marc Guehi as role models for players who can develop a career at the top level off the back of the loan.
This will no doubt be buoyed by the fact that the club have offered him a new contract for when he returns to Stamford Bridge, which the website has claimed he has already signed.
Staff at the club will be hoping for a promising loan spell that sees him return challenging for a place in the first team.
