Signing young players who could blossom into superstars in the future has been a cornerstone of Chelsea’s project.

However, to land one wonderkid who is currently on their radar, Chelsea are going to have to pay an enormous fee.

Estevao Willian, Kendry Paez and Dario Essugo will definitely be joining the Blues this summer, so the club do not have to worry about that trio at least.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, though, expects Paez to leave Chelsea on loan for the 2025/26 season.

Chelsea pushing to sign Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz

If Chelsea have their way, then Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz will be joining Paez, Estevao and Essugo at Stamford Bridge.

It has been claimed that Chelsea have already contacted Juventus about signing Yildiz, but the Blues having their way will not be straightforward.

According to CaughtOffside, the Old Lady could demand as much as €100m (£85.7m) for the Turkey international this summer.

It is huge money for a 19-year-old, but that is not Chelsea’s only problem. The same outlet claims that Premier League rivals Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United are all also keen on Yildiz.

Chelsea could also be forced to do battle with City and United for another player. Porto’s Diogo Costa has been linked to Chelsea, City and United, with there being a possibility that all three English giants enter the market for a goalkeeper.

Kenan Yildiz tipped to make Ballon d’Or list

Turning 20 in May, it is still early days for Yildiz in his career. However, the winger is already being tipped to be a Ballon d’Or contender in the near future.

One Italian journalist, Riccardo Trevisani, when speaking to Pressing (via IlBianconero) about Yildiz said: “He is the true light of this team, despite the fact that he still has to grow. He is not a small player. For me, he will end up in the 30-man shortlist of the Ballon d’Or within two years. He is a great player for me.”

Considering Chelsea’s interest, Yildiz could find himself trying to win the Ballon d’Or at Stamford Bridge. But there is a long way to go before a move there materialises, while Yildiz has a bit more developing to do before he can compete with the elite.
