Chelsea’s scouts are putting together a strong argument as to why the club should try and sign a £70m-rated striker they’re currently watching.
There’s a lot of players in the current Chelsea squad scoring plenty of goals this season, but that’s not stopping the transfer rumours linking them with more forwards.
So far, Nicolas Jackson has scored four goals and made three assists in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku has seven goals across all competitions this campaign.
Speaking recently via The Debrief, Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea aren’t desperate to sign a striker in January. It’ll be interesting to see what the long-term future looks like in the No.9 position at the club.

Chelsea scouts pushing the case for Victor Boniface
According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea scouts have urged their manager Enzo Maresca to push for the signing of Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface.
It is explained that the Blues may continue to bolster their forward options within the next 12 months.
The report says that Chelsea scouts continue to recommend Leverkusen striker Boniface, who’s scored five goals in eight appearances this season across all competitions. They’re really impressed by the Bundesliga star, so are keeping tabs on his current situation.
In addition, GMS states that there’s an ‘increasing possibility’ that the Nigeria international leaves Leverkusen next summer because wholesale changes are expected at the club. However, it’s unlikely he’ll move in January, and he’s being valued at around £70m.
His past comments feel significant
There’s no doubt that Boniface, 23, looks like a very talented striker. John Obi Mikel even described Boniface as “really special” on his podcast earlier in the year.
The Leverkusen centre-forward’s past comments suggest that any kind of transfer to Chelsea may be tough to make happen, though.
During an interview with SportyTV last month, Boniface shared his honest dislike towards the Premier League.
When asked if he sees himself playing in England’s top division in his career, Boniface admitted: “No. I did an interview before, and I’m not saying this just because I’m in this level, I’ve been saying this even before I had an international passport, even before I dreamed of coming to Europe. I don’t really like the Premier League. I’ve said this before. I prefer Spanish football and German football.
“I’m not saying if, for example, a good team comes for me, I will not go. I’m just saying if you ask me to pick two countries I really want to play in, it’s Germany and Spain.”
