There was a lot of excitement around Andrey Santos last season because of his form on loan at Strasbourg, so will he now get the chance to shine at Chelsea in the upcoming campaign?

Andrey Santos, who’s still only aged 21, is a talented central midfielder on Chelsea’s books.

The Brazilian youngster enjoyed a superb campaign in France with Strasbourg last term. Afterwards, he was part of Enzo Maresca’s Blues squad this summer as they won the Club World Cup.

Despite the claim that Maresca thinks Santos needs time adjusting to Chelsea’s team, they are not planning to send the South American rising star on loan again. Apparently, there are plenty at Stamford Bridge who are excited about the midfielder’s potential and ability.

Interest from Inter Milan in Andrey Santos

According to SportItalia, Italian club Inter Milan recently made an enquiry about signing Chelsea’s Santos.

It is explained that Brazilian super-agent Giuliano Bertolucci, whose list of clients includes Santos, met with the Serie A giants this week to discuss many things. Apparently, the Chelsea midfielder came up during talks, and Inter’s sporting director is an admirer.

The report adds that the Blues have set their ‘costs’ at a very high price for the 21-year-old talent. Meanwhile, Inter are prioritising elsewhere in this summer transfer window.

The priority for Chelsea should be to keep and develop Santos, who showed some incredible form last year. Therefore, fans can breathe a sigh of relief that they appear to have kept Inter at arm’s length.

Back in June, Bayern Munich were also credited with interest in Santos, which should set the alarm bells ringing for Chelsea that they may have something special in their ranks.

Chelsea are injecting Brazilian firepower

Some outstanding Brazilians have played for Chelsea over the years, including the likes of Thiago Silva and David Luiz. Now, the Blues dressing room is welcoming some more special South American footballers for the 2025/26 campaign.

Santos and Estevao Willian, who have both played for Brazil’s senior national team, will bring some extra individual quality to the squad at Stamford Bridge.

We expect it will be a challenge for both to break into Chelsea’s best XI from day one, but they should immediately make the depth of the squad a lot stronger next term.

For Santos, he can compete and learn in midfield alongside teammates Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia. As for 18-year-old attacker Estevao, he should be eyeing up a spot on the right wing.
