Chelsea could earn a bit of money this month if one of their former players is sold during the transfer window.

There were a lot of departures last summer following Enzo Maresca‘s arrival at Chelsea.

Some were high profile, with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Conor Gallagher leaving the club, albeit the former only on loan.

There were also some lesser names that departed, such as Diego Moreira and Tino Anjorin. There was not enough space in Chelsea’s squad for everyone, so departures were necessary.

Chelsea set to receive 50% of Tino Anjorin’s next transfer fee

Chelsea sold Anjorin to Empoli last summer, but the midfielder could already be on the move.

That would be good news for Chelsea because according to Tuttomercatoweb, the Blues will pocket 50% of Anjorin’s next transfer fee thanks to a sell-on clause they included when they sold him.

The same outlet claims that Torino are trying to sign the 23-year-old, meaning that Chelsea could very well earn some cash from him soon.

The club could also make money from some direct sales this month. For example, Christopher Nkunku could be on his way to Bayern Munich.

How has Tino Anjorin got on at Empoli this season?

Again, Anjorin has performed quite well at Empoli. Most importantly, though, the ex-England U20 international is getting regular game time, which is all he would have wanted after picking up a few bad injuries in his career and failing to break into Chelsea’s first team.

In total, Anjorin has made 15 appearances under Roberto D’Aversa. He is yet to score for the Serie A club, but he has managed to register three assists.

In the end, Anjorin moving on permanently was probably best for everyone. He was never going to become a regular under Maresca, while Chelsea could be about to make a bit of money from someone who does not even play for them any more. It was good business.
