Chelsea are still keen to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus – and Alvaro Morata could now help the Blues get a deal agreed.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

So, how could Alvaro Morata help Chelsea sign Dusan Vlahovic? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Italian news outlet believe Juventus could sign the Atlético Madrid No.19 as a replacement for their No.9 this summer, which would seal his exit.

Juventus are searching for Vlahovic replacements following claims from ESPN that the Serbia international has been the subject of a £70m bid from Chelsea, and he is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge after growing unhappy in Turin.

Along with Morata, the Italian giants are also looking at Gianluca Scamacca and Arkadiusz Milik.

The Vlahovic to Chelsea saga had gone quiet in recent weeks, although this update suggests Juventus are now planning for life after the Serbian striker, which is encouraging news for Mauricio Pochettino.

In 42 appearances during the 2022/23 campaign, the 23-year-old scored 14 goals.

Vlahovic seems most likely option for Chelsea

There are a number of strikers on Chelsea’s shortlist this summer, including Victor Osimhen and Lautaro Martinez.

However, we believe Vlahovic – who was called a “complete” striker by Lecce Director Pantaleo Corvino – is the most likely option to arrive at Stamford Bridge, on the basis of reports.

The fact that Vlahovic allegedly wants to join Chelsea, a bid has been made and Juventus are already looking for replacements suggests a lot is happening behind the scenes for this deal to go through.

While every transfer rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt, there have not been as many concrete reports involving Osimhen, Martinez or any other striker for that matter.

Therefore, the Vlahovic saga is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
