Chelsea have now submitted a bid to sign Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
That is according to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano has reported on X that Chelsea have contacted Premier League rivals Brighton and put an opening offer on the table for Robert Sanchez.
He wrote: “Chelsea have sent formal bid for Robert Sánchez to Brighton. Negotiations are ongoing — told Sánchez has already accepted Chelsea as destination.
“Brighton hope for Sánchez to leave this summer.”

According to the Daily Mail’s Transfer Confidential email (sign-up link here), Sanchez has already agreed to join Chelsea this summer.
The Spanish keeper may have all-but sorted personal terms ahead of a potential transfer to Stamford Bridge, but will the clubs now be able to arrange a deal?
The Daily Mail claimed last month that Brighton will want around £30million to sell Sanchez on a permanent basis.
He may have completely fallen out of favour at the Amex Stadium in recent months, which resulted in his omission from Brighton’s pre-season tour, but is still a highly-rated young goalkeeper.
At the age of 25, we could see value for money at the £30m price tag.

Described as “amazing” by Graham Potter (The Argus – November, 2021), Sanchez earned his reputation as a consistent Premier League gloveman before his absence at Brighton.
If he signs to provide competition for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Chelsea could feel confident in having two decent goalkeepers.
However, we’re not sure either are quite in the elite bracket yet.
It’ll be interesting to see who Mauricio Pochettino identifies as his long-term number one at Chelsea.
