Chelsea have reportedly discussed internally a £15m-rated English player as a potential transfer target.

There’s currently a strong core of English players running through the squad at Stamford Bridge.

Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher are at Euro 2024 with Gareth Southgate’s England squad, where both have the quality to make a big impact in the tournament.

On top of that, Chelsea’s dressing room also includes English talents such as Reece James, Levi Colwiill, Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke.

Could the Blues be about to add another to their squad?

Chelsea thinking about 26-year-old striker

Journalist Simon Phillips has reported via his Substack on Wednesday that Chelsea have been considering re-signing Roma’s Tammy Abraham for a few months now.

It is understood that the Englishman’s name continues to crop up in conversations. In fact, the centre-forward has been mentioned internally in recent talks, albeit there’s some concerns about his form.

Phillips explains that Abraham would be available for around £15m amid interest from the likes of West Ham, Aston Villa and Arsenal.

The former blues striker is “on the radar” of Chelsea and that interest could yet develop further.

Tammy Abraham great value at £15m

In fairness, we wouldn’t mind Chelsea taking a punt on Abraham if he’s available at such a good price.

He’s struggled in 2024 since returning from a long-term injury, scoring once in 12 matches. But this is a forward that has proven he can score goals at a decent rate.

Abraham scored 30 times in 82 first-team appearances for Chelsea. He’s got 37 goals in 119 Roma games since moving out to Italy, too.

Elsewhere, he had some great loan spells as a youngster at the likes of Aston Villa, Swansea City and Bristol City.

Speaking via talkSPORT in 2022, Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher described Abraham as “amazing”.

When you consider some of the other transfer rumours out there, Abraham for £15m suddenly starts to seem quite appealing.
