Chelsea considered signing Andre from Fluminense back in June – now, Liverpool could bring him to the Premier League.
That is according to Sky Sports.
So, what is the situation involving Andre and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to respected journalist Bruno Andrade – Chelsea thought about signing the Brazil international at the start of the summer transfer window.
The Blues considered buying the South American to help their pursuit of Manuel Ugarte from Sporting CP.
Chelsea’s plan was to sign Andre, before loaning him to the Portuguese giants as an immediate replacement for the Uruguay international.
However, Ugarte eventually decided to join PSG, and Chelsea’s interest in Andre slowly fizzled out.

Now, Liverpool could sign the 22-year-old after Southampton rejected a new bid from the Reds for Romeo Lavia, which was in the region of £40m.
Sky Sports believe Liverpool have already made contact with Fluminense over a deal for Andre – who is valued at €25m (£20m) – as Jürgen Klopp begins to search for alternatives.
Loser of Romeo Lavia battle between Chelsea and Liverpool likely to sign Andre
Interestingly, Chelsea are also trying to sign Lavia – Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri believes the Blues sent a bid to Southampton after hearing that Liverpool had made an opening offer.
With Chelsea and Liverpool both aware of Andre as well, it feels as if whoever fails to sign Lavia will end up with the Brazilian wonderkid instead.

In our view, it is strange that Todd Boehly didn’t decide to sign Andre in June anyway despite Ugarte choosing PSG, as the American makes a habit of pinching top talents from Brazil – Chelsea have already signed Andrey Santos and Angelo Gabriel from that part of the globe.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Andre and Lavia are both on Liverpool and Chelsea’s radar.
