Chelsea have signed so many exciting young talents from across the globe recently, including Kendry Paez. Well, the Blues have just decided the teenager’s fate for the 2025/26 season.
After turning 18 in May, Kendry Paez officially completed his move to Chelsea from Independiente del Valle this summer.
The attacking midfielder, who has 18 senior international caps for Ecuador, is a rising star with a lot of potential. It looks like Blues fans may need to be patient with the £17m talent (Sky Sports), though.
Chelsea think they’ve hit the jackpot with Paez, along with Estevao Willian. However, it can take time for Enzo Maresca to introduce these young stars into the first-team picture.
Paez was disappointed with Chelsea because he was left out of their Club World Cup squad this summer, and it now looks like a decision has been made to let him exit on a temporary basis.

Kendry Paez will soon join Strasbourg on loan
According to journalist Nicolo Schira via X, Chelsea will soon confirm that Paez is joining Strasbourg on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.
Blues goalkeeper Mike Penders, 20, has already secured a season-long loan move to Strasbourg for the new campaign. Also, Chelsea sold Mathis Amougou, 19, to the Ligue 1 club earlier this month.
It now looks like Kendry will join both at Strasbourg, where we are excited to see what the attacking playmaker can do in the French top flight.

Kendry Paez wanted immediate chance in Chelsea first team
Kendry has plenty of first-team experience with Independiente del Valle, scoring 13 goals in 70 appearances for the Ecuadorian club. However, he’s now set to get his first taste of European football.
Even though Kendry preferred to stay with Chelsea for the upcoming 2025/26 season, they have decided it’s best for his development if he goes out on loan.
Strasbourg, Chelsea’s sister club, provide a great platform for youngsters to develop. For Kendry, he should take inspiration from what Andrey Santos achieved in the past 18 months, shining during his loan spell at Strasbourg to springboard himself into Enzo Maresca’s first-team plans at Stamford Bridge.
