Chelsea are currently being linked with Porto and Portugal goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
Neither Robert Sanchez nor Filip Jorgensen managed to convince at Chelsea last season, meaning that the Blues could sign a new No.1 this summer.
Last month, it was claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing Costa, and now fresh reports have emerged stating the same thing as the 26-year-old continues to shine at the World Cup.
Who do you want to see Chelsea sign for each of these positions? 👀
These are the FOUR areas the club have identified for this summer…
Diogo Costa is a terrific shot-stopper
According to Portuguese outlet Record, Chelsea have been following Costa very closely.
Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to have Costa on their radar, so Chelsea could face some serious competition for his signature. However, the Porto star could be worth any potential transfer battle.
In Portugal’s 2-1 win against Croatia in the round of 32, the Chelsea scouts monitoring Costa would have noticed how good a shot-stopper he is.
As per Sofascore, he made five saves on the night, with three of them coming from inside his box. Costa also made one high claim and prevented 0.51 goals.
Those who follow Portuguese football would not have been surprised to see Costa pull off so many saves. Last season, he had a save percentage of 79.7% in the Portuguese league (via FBref).

There is no guarantee that Chelsea sign Costa in this transfer window, and not just because of PSG’s interest in the Portugal international.
The Blues have the talented Mike Penders, who could get a chance in the first team next term.
Penders has already discussed returning to Chelsea this summer, stating that he will try to prove himself in training.
But if Chelsea do opt to sign a new goalkeeper, Costa is one of the best options out there. There is also AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, who has been a target for the club in the past, so there are names for the Blues to consider.
