Chelsea are reportedly set to keep Conor Gallagher at Stamford Bridge beyond the January transfer window.
According to The Athletic on its transfer deadline day blog, there’s been ‘significant interest’ recently from clubs in the 22-year-old Blues talent.
It is understood that the likes of Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle United and West Ham United have set their sights on Chelsea’s young midfielder.
However, the report explains that Graham Potter’s side have turned down all approaches and the player is staying in west London barring a remarkable unexpected late twist.
It’s been claimed that the Blues have had no desire to send Gallagher out on loan. Also, any received bids have been well below the club’s valuation.

Gallagher, who’s played himself into a little bit of form during recent games, has already played 25 Chelsea games across all competitions this campaign. Therefore, it’s easy to see him playing an important role during the second half of the season as well.
The £50,000-a-week ace is an all-action central midfielder that is bringing energy and enthusiasm at a time the Blues are struggling for results.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have been asking for upwards of £50million to sell Gallagher in January.

Hopefully, Gallagher can kick on and start playing to his best levels in the next few months.
Graham Potter has used the youngster frequently and clearly admires him, so it’s going to be interesting to watch his developments moving forward.
