Chelsea could have the chance to sign PSV Eindhoven star Ibrahim Sangare this summer, according to reports.

Ibrahim Sangare, 25, is a defensive midfielder who plays for Dutch giants PSV.

According to 90min, PSV are actually prepared to let the 25-year-old leave at the end of the season.

It is understood that the Ivory Coast international, who’s got a €37million (£33million) release clause, could be sold in the next transfer window. The Eredivisie club are open to cashing in on one of their standout players this summer.

The report says that Sangare has so much interest from the Premier League, which is a division he wants to test himself in.

Apparently, the midfielder’s agent has already alerted the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham to the fact he could be sold soon.

This isn’t the first time Sangare’s name has come up in the Chelsea transfer rumour mill.

According to The Athletic last year, Chelsea discussed Sangare as a transfer target in the previous summer window. However, then-manager Thomas Tuchel wasn’t sold on the idea of bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

Graham Potter is the new man in the position of Blues head coach, so will things be any different a year further down the line?

PSV do have several talented individuals in their group, which is why Chelsea raided them for Noni Madueke in January.

A lot of the club’s business in the summer should be around cutting the mass squad, but there is still two or three areas they can strengthen in.

It’s no secret Chelsea really need a new No.9. On top of that, we would like to see a defensively minded midfielder join the squad.

If the Blues think Sangare is good enough to impact the XI right now, he could be really good value for money.
