Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni reportedly wants to stay where he is despite recent links with Chelsea.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has told CaughtOffside that Alessandro Bastoni wants to keep playing his football in Milan.
Apparently, the 23-year-old defender is currently in talks with the Serie A giants, with a meeting even taking place yesterday.
Romano told CaughtOffside: “Bastoni still wants to stay and sign new deal with Inter; discussions are ongoing, there was a meeting yesterday with his agent and negotiations continue.”
His deal at the San Siro is due to expire in the summer of 2024, so you can understand why talks are ongoing over his future.

Gazzetta claimed earlier this week that Chelsea have an interest in signing Bastoni in this summer’s transfer window.
The left-footed centre-back was valued at around €60million (£53million) last May, via Gazzetta.
It would be interesting to know what the Italy international is worth now in the transfer market, though.
He’s a key player in defence for Inter, who are quarter-finalists in this season’s Champions League competition. Incidentally, they find themselves on opposite sides to the draw from Chelsea, so the pair could only meet in the final.

Bastoni is a ball-playing centre-half that fits the mould of a classic Italian defender.
The Italians have a long history of producing elite centre-backs, something which Bastoni will hope to emulate.
He’s already very talented and mature for someone at the age of 23, but we don’t see too much sense in Chelsea pushing hard to sign him. In fact, staying with Inter could make sense for all parties involved.
Chelsea do have their own exciting options emerging as left-sided centre-back options, including 20-year-old loanee Levi Colwill.
