Chelsea are reportedly struggling to convince Borussua Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram to join them this month.
The Blues have been linked recently with a move for Thuram, who’s a talented striker with 13 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
Journalist Christian Falk recently claimed (CaughtOffside) that Gladbach are looking to cash in on the centre-forward in January before his contract expires at the end of the season. He adds they want €10million (£9million) and are waiting to receive an offer from Chelsea.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea have been in discussions about Gladbach’s frontman.
Apparently, the major hurdle facing the Blues is convincing Thuram to make the switch to Stamford Bridge in January.
The player is uncertain on his future and would rather make a decision on his next move at the end of the season.
“They have been in talks to sign both Marcus Thuram from Borussua Monchengladbach, and Noni Madueke from PSV, and those talks continue,” Phillips told GiveMeSport.
“However, with Thuram, convincing the player to leave this month when he is keen to see out his contract until the summer and make his decision then, is proving to be a bit of a stumbling block, at the time of writing.”

Described as a “world-class striker” by Wolfsburg’s sporting director Marcel Schafer, Thuram has built up a decent reputation for him in the Bundesliga in recent seasons.
The quick and powerful forward caught the eye at the winter World Cup with France recently, which is why some English audiences may be aware of him.
Speculation above suggests he could be available for a bargain price this month due to his contract situation, so snapping him up for the second half of the season could be great. However, it sounds like he may be a free agent in the summer and even cheaper for potential suitors.
