Christopher Vivell has reportedly been in talks about Chelsea trying to sign Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig, but a decision has been made that the player won’t be sold this month.
Vivell, who was recently appointed Chelsea’s new technical director, has been busy in the transfer market.
According to journalist Christian Falk, Vivell has held discussions with Leipzig about their young talent Gvardiol.
The Bundesliga club have shut down any hope that the 20-year-old defender could be on the move in January, but there’s a chance of a deal in the summer.
Falk told GiveMeSport: “I know Vivell, the technical director, knocked a few weeks ago at the door, the telephone door, of Leipzig and asked for January.
“There was a complete no, but he also asked about the possibility in the summer and there is a chance.”

Foot Mercato claimed last month that Chelsea submitted a bid worth over £80million for Gvardiol.
However, the left-footed centre-back is still a Leipzig player, albeit the transfer rumours refuse to go away.
He’s now widely recognised in the football world as one of the game’s elite young defender, with his performances at the World Cup for Croatia massively enhancing his reputation.
