Leicester City have reportedly set their sights on Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek as a potential transfer target.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, Premier League side Leicester have “spoken internally” about the 27-year-old Blues midfielder.
He’s suggested that that the Foxes could make a summer move for him, too.
“He has got clubs interested in him now and Leicester City are one of them,” Phillips told GiveMeSport.
“They’ve spoken internally about interest in Loftus-Cheek, so I could see them coming in for him in the summer, among other clubs. I don’t think Loftus-Cheek will stay. I think Chelsea will let him go in the summer.”

Ruben Loftus-Cheek suitors
Loftus-Cheek was linked with a potential move away from Stamford Bridge in January, so it’s no big surprise to hear his name mentioned for a possible summer departure.
Journalist Dean Jones told GiveMeSport last month that Newcastle United looked at Loftus-Cheek as a target.
The £120,000-a-week central midfielder has stayed put with Chelsea for the second half of the season, though.
His contract in west London is currently due to expire in 2024, so it’s going to be interesting to see what happens with his future.

Loftus-Cheek has been an important player in the Blues squad so far this season, making 21 appearances across all competitions so far.
The versatile midfielder started on the weekend during the 1-1 draw with West Ham and partnered Enzo Fernandez in the centre of the park.
He’s an individual with Premier League know-how, as well as the physical attributes to excel in certain games. Some of the fanbase doubt whether he’s actually capable of reaching the highest level, though.
The Englishman can no longer be considered a promising youngster. In fact, he’s one of the more experienced professionals when you see how young the group is.
He needs to have a massive second half of the season to convince Chelsea supporters he should still be in the squad next year.
