Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly confident they’re about to beat the likes of Chelsea to sign Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar.

With Skriniar’s contract at the San Siro expiring at the end of the season, he’s been linked with a move away from the Italian giants.

Calciomercato claimed last month that Chelsea were getting ready to step in with a move for the 27-year-old defender if he became available as a free agent.

However, new rumours suggest PSG are about to land a bargain deal.

Milan Skriniar future

According to 90min, PSG are “increasingly confident” that Skriniar will become their player at the end of the season once his Inter deal expires.

It is understood that the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United have set their sights on the Inter centre-half.

However, the report says that Skriniar is destined for Paris unless there’s a dramatic late move from a Premier League outfit.

In addition, PSG have offered the Slovakia international wages worth over £200,000-a-week.

Well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed back in 2021 that Skriniar is someone that Jose Mourinho “loves” as a player.

Mourinho has shown during his incredible managerial career that he can spot elite defenders, something Chelsea fans fully know from his time at Stamford Bridge.

It would be great to see a player like Skriniar come to the Premier League, especially for the Blues.

However, Graham Potter currently has so many options at centre-back in his Chelsea squad and he needs to work out his plans for the backline when looking ahead.
