Chelsea are interested in signing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig as they look to bring in another attacker.
This summer, the club have already added Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Liam Delap to Enzo Maresca‘s squad.
It is thought that Simons is open to joining Chelsea, but it does not look like the Blues are his dream side and that could cause problems for them later down the line.
If the 22-year-old does arrive at Stamford Bridge, at least one attacker will be expected to depart, such as Christopher Nkunku.

Chelsea will fear possibility of losing Xavi Simons to Barcelona
There is a good chance of Chelsea landing Simons before the transfer window closes in September.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea and Simons are close to a verbal agreement as the Blues push to complete the signing of the Dutchman.
However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed on GiveMeSport that Simons would “love” to return to Barcelona one day.
It means Simons could seek to join Barcelona in a future transfer window, which will be a concern for Chelsea if they sign the Leipzig star and he ends up becoming an important player for them.
The club do hand out long contracts, though, and it is unlikely to be any different for Simons. So if Barcelona ever do come knocking, the Club World Cup winners should be in a strong position.

What former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has said about Xavi Simons
As well as Barcelona, Simons has also spent time at Paris Saint-Germain, where he had the chance to work with former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
He was very young at the time, but Tuchel could see his potential and still appreciates the Netherlands international today.
Tuchel spoke about Simons in the build-up to a fixture between Bayern Munich and Leipzig in 2023 and said: “It was clear he had a lot of potential, he’s extremely talented.”
The England head coach later went on to add: “He is technically strong, calm with the ball, and very good in front of goal.”
Ultimately, you can see why Chelsea would want to sign Simons. But if they do and he gets any better, a move to Barcelona may not be too far away.
