Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, but Manchester City have the chance to bring him back to the Etihad next year.
City sold Liam Delap to Ipswich during the summer, but it is believed that they have a buy-back clause, which may concern some at Chelsea.
It has been claimed that Chelsea want to sign Delap after the impact he has made this season.
In 12 Premier League games, the 21-year-old has scored six goals, which includes a brace against Aston Villa.

Man City’s Liam Delap stance
City are really struggling right now, losing 4-0 to Tottenham Hotspur last time out.
Chelsea can actually overtake them this weekend if they beat Aston Villa and the Premier League champions drop points against Liverpool.
Even so, it has been reported by one outlet that City will not look to re-sign Delap in the January transfer window.
According to GiveMeSport, while the Citizens can trigger a buy-back clause in the new year, they currently have no plans to do so.
Some Chelsea fans have been comparing Delap to Diego Costa, so it looks like he would be a welcome addition at Stamford Bridge.
Is anyone else interested in Liam Delap?
If City do not take up their option to re-sign Delap, there is still no guarantee that Chelsea will land the young forward.
Last month, CaughtOffside claimed that Tottenham were interested in Delap and are actually the club who are leading the race for his signature.
It is not hard to see why Delap has caught both Spurs and Chelsea’s attention. Again, he has made an impact at Ipswich this season, while the former City man also has some very good attributes.
“He’s very difficult to deal with, he’s quick, he’s powerful, he’s in good form in the Premier League,” England U21s interim coach Ben Futcher said in October.
All in all, if Chelsea do want to sign an alternative to Nicolas Jackson, then Delap could be a good option.
