Chelsea will have to wait until the summer if they want to sign Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies.
Simon Phillips has claimed on his Substack that Chelsea are interested in Alphonso Davies.
However, according to the journalist, there is “no chance” of the Blues landing him in January, but they will keep an eye on his situation at Bayern ahead of the summer transfer window.
Davies’ contract expires in 2025, so the Bundesliga champions do have a bit of a problem here.
Chelsea will not be celebrating yet, though, with a move to Real Madrid also a possibility.

Chelsea should bid for Alphonso Davies next summer
If Real Madrid really are in the equation for Davies, then it is hard to imagine the left-back ending up at Stamford Bridge.
Nevertheless, if a player of his quality is on the market, then it is definitely worth chucking in a bid for him.
Are the Blues in desperate need of a new left-back? Not really. Levi Colwill is doing a good job there now, while Mauricio Pochettino also has Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella and Ian Maatsen for that position.
However, Colwill is not a natural left-back and Chilwell has had a lot of injury problems during his time at Stamford Bridge.
The club should still keep both of those players, though, but if there is a chance to get Davies, then maybe they can offload Cucurella and Maatsen.
The Canada international would bring so much quality to Chelsea’s left flank. This season, he is completing 2.7 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga, which is the third-highest average in Bayern’s squad, according to WhoScored.
If Davies indicates that he wants to join Chelsea next summer, then they have to make room for him. It may be harsh on someone like Cucurella, for example, who is playing really well at the minute. But the 23-year-old is too much of a good opportunity to turn down.
